This is a self portrait I arranged to have taken, about 10 years ago (assisted by my boyfriend) while we were staying in a beautiful bed and breakfast inn. Im not exactly sure which camera we used, but I suspect it was my vintage Konica. I’m just now realizing that I’ve been taking self portraits for almost 20 years..

This is the very first time I posed as an art model, back in 1995. I’m wearing a dress that my teacher, Anne Kinkade, gave me to use as a prop. I was extremely nervous when I later took it off. I quickly discovered- as Anne suspected-that I really enjoyed art modeling, and had a knack for it. This figure study painting was later given to me by my friend and artist, Roy Lambert, who passed away earlier this year.

Im a former advanced certified SCUBA diver, with a passion for pole dancing, contortionists & knife throwing. I love being fit. While I do have a chronic illness, I manage many of the symptoms with healthy diet, medication & exercise. CFIDS has taught me patience, gratitude, humility, and self-worth.

This drawing was gifted to me by an art student at the College of the Siskiyous, in Northern California, where I began my art modeling career. A woman (who’s name I cannot remember) handed it to me after class-when I mentioned how beautiful I thought it was. I had it immediately professionally matted, and framed. It is still hanging in my house today.
